  • Why should I book directly on this website?

    For the very best prices, book directly on this website or call us on (03) 5231 3244 — it takes two minutes and means you're dealing with us, not a third party. No hassles.

  • What are your check-in and check-out times?

    Check-in is from 2:00 pm and check-out is by 10:00 am. Contact staff for early check-in.

  • What if I arrive outside reception hours?

    If you're planning to arrive after 9:00 pm, please contact the motel in advance so we can arrange your arrival and we will leave the room open and the key inside for very late check-ins.

  • Is parking free?

    Yes — every room has free single-vehicle parking right at the door. 

  • Do you have a place to lock up bikes?

    Yes — we have a lock-up garage for bikes. We're a popular base for the Otway Odyssey Mountain Bike Marathon and the Great Ocean Otway Classic Ride.

  • Do you have EV charging?

    Yes — we have 2 on-site Destination Chargers for guests, ONLY FOR TESLA CARS. Non-Tesla car charges unavailable.

  • Are the rooms non-smoking?

    Yes — Otway Gate Motel is a smoke-free property. All rooms are non-smoking. $500 fine for smoking in the room.

  • Do you have Wi-Fi?

    Yes — wireless internet is provided in every room.

  • Do rooms have TVs?

    Yes — 50cm Sont Bravia smart TV’s with free Foxtel, personal streaming service available, standard remote and also larger remote can be requested via reception, streaming remote (Netflix logins etc).

  • Do you offer breakfast?

    Yes — cooked-to-order breakfast is delivered to your room daily from 7:00 am to 9:00 am for an additional charge. Please let us know at check-in. Prices on Menu provided (fixed priced menu, located in reception).

  • Is there a BBQ?

    Yes — there's a BBQ in a quiet corner of the rear garden for guest use, along with outdoor eating areas.

  • Do you offer business services?

    Yes — we have a photocopying service available for business travellers.

  • What rooms do you have for families?

    We have several options. Our Bunk Rooms (queen + single bunk) suit small families; our Family Rooms have two separate rooms (each with a queen + a single) and sleep up to six; and we can connect a Twin Room with a Bunk Room to sleep up to seven for larger groups.

  • How close is the motel to the Great Ocean Road?

    Colac is the gateway to the Otways and central to the Great Ocean Road — we're about an hour from Lorne, Apollo Bay and the Otway Fly, and about 70–80 minutes from the Twelve Apostles.

  • Can I add an extra bed or cot?

    Yes, no fee for a cot, extra bed is $25.
